The new Taguig

It looks like the staff of Mayor Lani Cayetano is hard at work remaking Taguig.

First off, the official website of Taguig City is under construction. (Note: As of 13 July 2010, it's back online and unfortunately, still says the mayor is Freddie Tinga)

I'm guessing it means that the unofficial twitter account of the city (@taguig) will be next to go. I do hope they put up an official one, to make it easy for netizens like me to communicate with them.

We should also be seeing the last of ex-Mayor Tinga's "forward taguig" signs. I wonder what the new slogan will be.

One noticeable thing under the new administration is the assignment of traffic enforcers at Commando Link in Palar during the mornings. This has considerably lessened the chaos caused by jeepneys obstructing the street while they await passengers. For some reason, though, the traffic enforcers are absent during rush hour traffic at night. Let's hope this is rectified soon.

  1. The "traffic enforcers" apparently lack the necessary training to direct traffic as they look like lost and confused during rush hours. Heck, the jeepney drivers don't even listen to them and continue to double-park right at the corner of Palar. There is even this kid who looks mentally unstable directing traffic. And to think this is all happening right infront of the police station. Talking about police efficiency!
